OLYMPIC TORCH RELAY
On June 4, 2004, Australian 400m gold medal winner Cathy Freeman—a Samsung Global Athlete Ambassador—was the first runner to carry the Olympic Torch as the flame began its first truly worldwide tour, traveling over 78,000 km, in 27 countries and 34 cities over 35 days.
As a proud presenter of the Athens 2004 Olympic Torch Relay, Samsung was given the outstanding opportunity to select 1,800 of the 11,000 torchbearers carrying the Olympic flame to all five continents. Joining Freeman were U.K. sprinter Darren Campbell, French hurdler Stephan Diagana, Italian swimmer Allessio Boggiatto, legendary Spanish cyclist Miguel Indurain, Russian tennis star Elena Dementieva, and long jumper Niki Xanthou, from the home country, Greece.

3-MEGAPIXEL CAMERA PHONE
The next time your friends complain about their grainy camera phones, tell them that Samsung, one of the first producers of camera phones, is about to start producing the first phones with 3 mega-
pixels cameras. That’s no misprint, either. Samsung is blurring the line between phone and camera, and the SPH-S2300 is the result. With an extending lens with optical zoom, a flash, and a mini-SD slot for storing pictures, the new S2300 is no run-of-the-mill camera. (The phone can also record video clips and download to your PC.) It’s obviously no run-of-the-mill phone either.
