When it comes to inventing new brands few match Sir Clive Sinclair. Inventor of the world’s first pocket calculator, first pocket TV, Britain’s best-selling computer, and even a few failures—anyone remember the C5 electric car? Now, Sinclair, 66, has done it again with the A-bike. Five years in the making, the world’s lightest foldable bike (just 12.5 pounds) accommodates riders up to 6’3”, and collapses into a custom rucksack in 10 seconds. It’s even greaseless. “The typical commuter needs to get from home to the station and then to work without the anxiety of portability, parking, and security,” says Sir Clive. With A-bike, it’s mission accomplished.—Ian
