The Portland-based design team Melt Modern—Matt Proctor and Aixé Djelal—may not know why the goo sticks, but they do have a knack for turning everything into blobchitecture. Their Splash Form Bowl is made by heating aluminum to 1500 degrees and pouring it onto a sand mold, so every bowl is unique—and very splashy indeed.—Ian Daly
