Now, even bad boy bikers can get a little hippie. The Concept eCycle, a hybrid motorbike created by brushless motor company eCycle in collaboration with industrial design firm Machineart, runs on a combination of (more) electricity and (less) gas. Three versions—the ec1, ec2, and ec3—offer the same environment-friendly background with different levels of attitude, from ec1’s 60s Honda-inflected ease to the ec3’s built-up “commuter variation,” a bulkier bike that incorporates everything today’s urban warrior needs, like wind protection and a tail rack. And once the eCycle moves out of concept and into reality, riders can go from vrooom to om in seconds flat. —Eva Hagberg
