Mr. Kwang Kee Park was appointed to the President of Samsung Electronics Africa in January 2010. Prior to taking up his new position in South Africa, he was the Managing Director of Thai Samsung Electronics from 2006 to 2009.
Mr. Park was the Vice President of Samsung’s Global Human Resource Planning Group based in Seoul, Korea responsible for establishing and standardizing global Human Resource guidelines, polices, and code of conduct for all of Samsung’s subsidiaries overseas from 2004 to 2005.
Mr. Park’s first overseas assignment, from 1991 to 1995, was based in Thailand where he supported Thailand and Indochina marketing activities for Samsung’s Consumer Electronics business. He has also worked as the Chief Manager of Business Operation at Samsung’s Regional Headquarters in Singapore from 1999 to 2003.
Mr. Park studied Economics and has a Master of Management (MM) in International Business and Marketing from Sasin Graduate Institute of Business Administration of Chulalongkorn University.
Mr.Maengdal Bae has worked at Samsung Electronics for over 24 years, having joined the company directly after completing his studies. He is currently the Managing Director of Samsung Electronic SA, a position he has held since May 2010. Prior to this, Mr Bae was the Director of Samsung Philippines, from 2000 to 2006, where he was based in Manila. Following this role, Mr Bae took up the position of General Manger for the Middle East and India Samsung Mobile Division, based at Samsung Head Quarters in Seoul, Korea.
Having a solid understanding of not only the consumer electronics industry, but also the Samsung brand, Mr Bae’s has played an integral part in developing the Samsung business across many emerging countries.
Mr Bae holds qualifications from Soongsil,University in Seoul Korea.
