Samsung Enterprise Business Forum in Turkey

Samsung is a global company, which means there are tons of insightful and meaningful Samsung-related events happening all around the world. Although the best way to experience all these events is to physically be there, unfortunately, it is realistically impossible. However, we have the next best thing! Samsung has been working with a number of eager and interested college reporters all around the world, called “Global Samsung Storytellers.” Their role is to bring you Samsung news from around the world that you may have missed. Today, we have SJ Lee from Turkey and she is going to tell share how the Enterprise Business Forum in Turkey went.

Hi, this is SJ Lee, Global Samsung Storyteller, in Turkey. Last month, Samsung held the Enterprise Business Forum, a two-day exclusive forum, for the first time in Turkey this year. On the first day, the event was only open to Samsung’s B2B solution partners; however, journalists, CIOs (Chief Information Officers) and many other business-minded people participated on the second day. Since I’m guessing that many readers have missed this exclusive event, I am here to tell you what happened at the Enterprise Business Forum in Turkey.

Now onto the fun stuff. Participants had the opportunity to try out Samsung’s solutions in the experience booths. Booth themes included transportation, hospitality, Samsung Smart School, digital menu, retail, interactive white board, security, and cloud services.

Let’s check out what some of the booths looked like!

Retail Booth: Blesh! Right Time, Right Place
Retail Booth: Blesh! Right Time, Right Place
The virtual dressing solution “Blesh” intrigued visitors with its cutting-edge functions that look like something out of a Sci-Fi movie. The solution allowed visitors to look at 360-degree images of themselves in different outfits. I decided to try it myself.

‘Blesh’ was one of the most popular apps introduced in the retail solution booth. Blesh is a mobile app developed by the local company OBSS. It adopts what’s called ‘Blesh Technology’ to display customized messages on LFD (Large Format Display) screens when a customer approaches the screen.

The app, which was launched in May 2014, recognizes user information, such as their name and company, before displaying the customized messages. This app was made public for the first time since its debut in the forum. The developer said that they would make the app ‘smarter’ to display targeted ads based on the customer’s information, such as age and personal preferences provided in advance. Such amazing technology selects only the ads of products that a specific customer would likely want and pay attention to!

This is a demo version of Blesh specially designed for the forum. You can see the name of the customer and the product information of an item that the app thinks he or she may want to buy. A commercial version, however, will be able to analyze customers’ purchase patterns in shops and predict which advertisements the customer would be most interested in, the developer said. ‘Blesh’ is a great example of customization technology!

Security Booth: Samsung Knox

Security Booth: Samsung Knox
Samsung Knox is an optimized security solution that protects a smart device’s hardware, operating system, and its applications. It also has an encrypted space called ‘Workspace’. Users can separate personal data and business data in the space provided by ‘Workspace’, which ensures a safer management of business data. On top of this, the ‘Trust zone’ contains user’s authentication information and other types of encryption codes. On the hardware chipset, personal data stored on the device is protected just in case the device is lost, hacked or stolen. Featuring fingerprint scanning, the solution also supports enhanced authentication, as well as a personal password. Business customers will surely welcome this solution because they often require real-time kernel codes and information monitoring.
Security Booth: Samsung Knox
Leading the B2B market in security and cloud services, Samsung Knox was very popular among visitors. Out of the many people in the booth, I had a quick talk with a journalist named Evren Gulyasar from BT News.

It seemed like he was pretty impressed with the Forum, especially, because visitors could see all the various solutions at once. But he was most impressed with the Samsung KNOX. He said, “It is a simple solution but after experiencing it firsthand, it began to look like an essential solution for any business person.

Interactive Whiteboard Booth: CIO Room
What does a CIO need the most? The seamless exchange of information! The CIO Room allowed visitors to try interactive office solutions in an environment that synchronized electronic whiteboards and table PCs. As you can see, J. K. Shin was very interested in the zone.

This forum featured LFDs (Large Format Displays), which delivered images that are more vibrant.

The B2B solutions introduced in the 2014 Enterprise Business Forum made it possible for customers to interactively engage with information and customized content. I hope that Samsung Electronics continues to surprise and engage consumers with creative solutions that synthesize ‘seeing’ and ‘experiencing.’ This is Global Samsung Storyteller Seungji Lee, reporting from Turkey.
