The World’s 1st Printer Powered by Android™: 6 things you need to know
At IFA 2014, more than a few 'the world's first' products were being displayed at the Samsung booth at IFA 2014. To name just an eye-catching few, we had the 8K 98" TV, Bendable 105" UHD TV, UHD OLED and 105" Curved UHD TV. Besides our TVs, there is one more ' first' that has been creating some buzz, the World’s First Printer Powered by Android™.

Since we are there in Berlin, we at Samsung Tomorrow got the chance to play around with the Smart MultiXpress models. But why should we have all the fun? We took some notes about the key points.
1. MFP = Multi-Function Printer

Before we break down what the Smart MultiXpress printers is all about, lets quickly touch base on what a multi-function printer (MFP) is. MFP is generally described as an office machine that incorporates the functionality of a Fax, Photocopier, Printer and Scanner.

2. It has the 10.1-inch full touchscreen panel.

Now, the first thing that you notice about the Smart MultiXpress is the 10.1-inch full-touchscreen panel. This tablet-like touchscreen panel features the very first Smart Android printing UX, Samsung SMART UX Center, which is the same UX as Samsung Galaxy devices.

3. It has Apps!

Therefore, it is able to support Apps! The Smart MultiXpress comes with tons of helpful preloaded apps, including Copy, Scan/Send, Box, Job Status, Counter, Settings, Build Job, Address Book, and Help.

4. It gives you access to internet.

One of the most intriguing features of the Smart MultiXpress is the direct web access. Because the touchscreen panel allows you to access the web directly, you can print web content without a PC and directly from the printer!

5. It is customizable.

One other cool thing about the Smart MultiXpress is its personalization features. Even though MFPs are mostly used in business settings, the Smart MultiXpress features the 'My Page' setting, which can be customized, so that each user can keep track of individual usage, control accessibility, and more.

6. It is a fast and powerful printer.

It’s important to remember that Smart MultiXpress is a printer. A very, very good printer. Smart MultiXpress M5370 series is equipped with Dual-Scan ADF technology, which allows the user to scan up to 80 double sided images per minute. Also, powered by a 1GHz dual-core CPU, it can print up to 53 pages per minute.
Considering that IFA 2014 is an exhibition where companies showcase the next generation of their products, it was the perfect place to launch the new multi-function printers. Seeing some of the new features of the World’s First Printer Powered by Android™, it is exciting to imagine what businesses can do with the Smart MultiXpress, and what it can do for businesses.
