Interpretation

In the Privacy and the Legal sections below: “We”, “our” and “us” means Samsung Electronics SA (Pty) Ltd;

“Samsung group” means Samsung Electronics (Pty) Ltd, its subsidiaries from time to time, its holding companies from time to time and the subsidiaries from time to time of such holding companies;

“Samsung Electronics” means Samsung Electronics (Pty) Ltd.

Privacy

Without affecting our obligations under any relevant legislation, we operate by the following principles with regard to personal information which you supply to us:

1. What information do we collect?

In certain circumstances we ask you to provide certain personal details about yourself on this site, for example, your name, email address, postal address, product preferences.

In order to help us improve our site, we will also collect information automatically about your visit to our web site to help us with identifying user's browsing preferences.

This information is collected for internal purposes only so that we can carry out research on our users' demographics, behaviour and interests. By using this site you consent to our collecting data about you and using it in the manner set out in our privacy policy.

2. How are your personal details used?

We will use your personal information to improve our marketing and promotional efforts and to assist us with improving our content and services offered on the web site.

As stated above, we also collect statistical data so that we can analyse site usage and customer needs.

3. Who collects the personal details?

Samsung.co.za is operated by Samsung Electronics SA Pty (Ltd) under registered number 1994/003872/07 and whose registered address is at Medscheme Office Part, Phase 1, 10 Muswell Road South, Bryanston, 2021.

4. Do we disclose your details to third parties?

Except as set out below, we will not pass your personal details to any third party except to our web site contractors or our professional advisers or except as may be required by law.You can rest assured that we will not sell or rent your personal details to any other organisation. If, however, in the future, we sell our business to a third party, then we will be entitled to pass on your personal details to the purchaser but only if the purchaser has implemented or undertakes to implement a privacy policy similar to ours.

We may use your personal details for direct marketing purposes within the Samsung Group and from time to time you may receive direct marketing from us or other members of the Samsung Group.
