Protect, Assist and Trade benefits to the value of $250

June 06, 2014 – Samsung Electronics announced that as part of it’s continuous drive to deliver industry leading service and value to its customers, it will add innovative warranty benefits to its premium range of television products.

The service is available to everyone who purchases a Samsung UHD TV or Samsung Series 7 TV as well as the soon to be launched Curved UHD TC and Curved LED TV. The service, known as PAT (Protect, Assist and Trade) enables loyal Samsung customers to protect their investments for years to come. “This 3-in-1 enhanced warranty is an industry first and will further enhance the ecosystem of benefits to further enrich the overall brand experience,” says Corrie Labuschagne, Regional Product Manager for Africa Visual Display at Samsung Electronics.

Recognising that unforeseen mishaps can occur at any time, the new extended warranty offers consumers protection for their television including replacement protection for accidental damage or theft. This benefit is valid for a period of 24 months from date of purchase and can amount to up to $250 in value. In the case of accidental damage unlimited telephonic support is available and it includes two free service in-home callouts. “Samsung is a dynamic company at the forefront of technological innovation. We continuously invest in delivering smart innovations to our customers with value-added services and benefits on a wide range of devices, from televisions to smartphones,” says Corrie.

The PAT service will be available, from June 2014 and will be launched in 11 countries including South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, Mauritius, Tanzania, Senegal, Angola, Namibia, Botswana and Zambia. Customers are requested to register their qualifying product by downloading the Samsung PAT app from the Google Play store, or by calling the Samsung Customer Care Centre on +27 (0) 861 888 003.

The PAT service offers ‘extra peace of mind’ and further demonstrates Samsung’s commitment to be a brand that meets consumers’ needs by being reliable, dependable and trustworthy.

In addition to the Protect and Assist elements, Samsung encourages users to visit a Samsung Experience Store and enquire if their current smartphone is eligible for a trade-in. Their smartphone will be evaluated and if approved, they will receive a Samsung voucher which can be redeemed at participating Samsung Experience Stores towards their next purchase of any Samsung product.
