I am trying to use the Downtime feature in the "Interruptions" settings area but cannot locate it. Is my device faulty?

No your device is not faulty.

 

The "Downtime" feature was not part of the initial implementation of

Lollipop OS 5.0 for the Galaxy S5.

 

Please note however that Samsung continuously monitors feedback

regarding the features its customers use.

 

As a result of this please be advised of the below additional note:

 

Additional note to above – in the latest update release of Lollipop 5.0 OS for Galaxy S5,

the “Interruptions” feature has been replaced by the “Do not disturb” feature.

 

The “Do not disturb” feature in turn has a new mode, called “Scheduling” which offers

a very similar feature / mode to the “interruptions” > “Downtime” feature

 

Please noteIf after updating the SW on your device you find the Do Not Disturb feature

is still absent, first please try the SW update process again as you may have installed a

SW update to your device that was released prior to the SW update for the Do Not Disturb

feature that you may have previously missed. If, after checking for the Do Not Disturb feature

you find it is still absent and you then attempt a SW update, but no further update is currently available,

please retry updating your device SW after a day or two*.

 

 

* Note: The new software version which includes the Mute will be started to release

from the end of Feb . 2015
