  • FAQs - [Smart Switch PC] Message that reads “The version of the connected device is not supported.
    Please check the software version of your device.
    (Smart Switch is supported by Android OS version 4.1.2 or higher.)” is displayed and connection cannot be established.
  • Make sure that the device model is supported by Smart Switch.

    1. ① Galaxy S3, Note2, Note 8 (Android 4.1.2 or later)

  • FAQs - [Smart Switch PC] Connection cannot be established even if I'm using a supported model. What should I do?
  • If a model supported by Smart Switch cannot be connected, please check the following.

    Plug the USB into the PC again, and check if the device's model is displayed correctly in Windows Explorer.
    Once the device is connected and displayed correctly in Explorer, run Smart Switch again and check if the connection is established.
    If the device does not show up on Windows Explorer or Smart Switch after connecting again, make sure that the specifications of the PC fulfill
    the recommended system specifications of Smart Switch PC Tool.

  • FAQs - [Smart Switch PC] A message that says “Insufficient storage space; content cannot be transferred. Free up sufficient storage space and try again.”shows up.
  • Above popup message is shown when the amount of data to transfer exceeds the available space on the device.
    Try again after re-selecting the items to transfer or freeing more space on the device by deleting existing data.

  • FAQs - [Smart Switch PC] Failed to confirm backup data.
  • Check the supported model, OS version and supported software version.

    • · Samsung: Data backed up using Kies 2.5.3 or higher
    • · Apple: iOS 4.2.1 or later
    • · BlackBerry: Blackberry OS 6.0 or later
    • · LG: Android Gingerbread or later. Excluding entire backups
    • · Nokia: Series 40 or Symbian 6.0 or later
  • FAQs - [Smart Switch PC] A message that says “Your back up is either encrypted or corrupted”shows up.
  • There is a problem with the backup data or it is encrypted.
    Backup again by referring to below and try again.

    • · Back up on computer (iCloud backups are not supported.)
    • · Disable "Encrypt iPhone backup" option
  • FAQs - [Smart Switch Mobile] “Connection cannot be established when I put two devices together.”
  • Make sure that all NFC-related settings are turned ON in Settings of both devices and try again.

  • FAQs - [Smart Switch Mobile] “After data transfer has been completed, there are some data that has not been transferred.”
  • The following types of data cannot be transferred partially.

    1. Contacts - Ringtones, message alerts, vibration patterns
       Calendar - Stickers, notifications, S-Memo, images, groups
    2. Only the local account data can be transferred.
       * Google and Samsung Account data cannot be transferred.
