Australian Athletes join Global Stars inthe Samsung GALAXY Team

Sydney – October 24, 2013 – Three rising stars of the Australian Olympic and Paralympic teams have been handpicked to join the exclusive Samsung GALAXY Team for the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games. Alex ‘Chumpy’ Pullin (Snowboard Cross); Scotty James (Snowboard Half Pipe and Slopestyle); and Jessica Gallagher (Paralympic Alpine Skiing) will be part of an elite group of athletes to have exceptional Samsung technology at their fingertips throughout their training and the Games to help maximise their chances of winning gold.

The announcement comes as the Olympic Winter Games celebrates with a special Sochi 2014 countdown event this week in Moscow, attended by Alex Pullin and a group of international athletes who will form the Samsung GALAXY Team. The Samsung GALAXY Team is made up of 80 athletes from 20 countries, all backed by Samsung technology throughout their journey towards a potential Olympic medal. The event kicks off a series of local initiatives over the next four months as Samsung leverages its sponsorship of the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games.

Ltd is the Worldwide Olympic Partner in the Wireless Communications Equipment category, with the Samsung GALAXY Note 3 device named as the official Olympic Phone for the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games. The GALAXY Note 3 is Samsung’s latest update to the Note product line, with the new device and technology being utilised by Pullin, James and Gallagher throughout their training schedules.
