Samsung Australia announces launch of compact M3 Wireless Multiroom Speaker*

SYDNEY, Australia – September 26, 2014 – Samsung Electronics Australia has today announced pricing and availability of the new M3 Multiroom Speaker. The newest addition to the Samsung Wireless Audio Multiroom system enables Australian music lovers to enjoy entertainment in any connected room of the house or office and control the speaker from a compatible smartphone or tablet device.*

Available in major retailer stores next week with an RRP of $269, the new M3 Multiroom Speaker features Bluetooth connectivity and the distinctive triangular design of Samsung’s Multiroom Speaker range, launched earlier this year.

“The Samsung Wireless Multiroom Speaker range represents an exciting evolution in our product offering for Australian homes. We now offer three separate Multiroom Speaker models that can integrate with each other through a specialised mobile application that can literally connect every Multiroom Speaker in the home,”* said Brad Wright, Director – Audio Visual, Samsung Electronics Australia.

“Samsung strives to create a complete home entertainment experience through our growing product portfolio, and we’re very excited to offer Australians the M3 Multiroom speaker to take advantage of the unique Multiroom ecosystem benefits at an entry-level price,” he added.

Integration and functionality

The new M3 Multiroom Speaker offers two-way speaker functionality and simplistic control design from compatible mobile devices. The functionality is designed to bring various music sources together into one simple speaker system.*

Equipped with Bluetooth connectivity, the M3 allows compatible mobile devices to wirelessly pair with the speaker quickly and easily – great for when guests come over and want to play their favourite song or playlist.*

Available in black or white, the sleek and modern triangular design subtly evokes the shape of a ‘play’ button and can be positioned vertically, when used in conjunction with the included vertical foot stand, or horizontally, depending on the user’s needs. The speaker can also be wall mounted in a corner of the room for flexibility and integration (wall mounting kit sold separately).

The M3 Multiroom speaker also supports several audio file formats including AAC, MP3, WAV, OGG, WMA, as well as 24 bit FLAC, AIFF, and ALAC, for a high quality music experience.

Multiroom Link

As part of the Multiroom Audio Range ecosystem, music on the M3 Multiroom speaker can be managed via Multiroom Link allowing users to play music from multiple compatible sources over an existing Wi-Fi network. To access music, users simply download the ‘Wireless Audio – Multiroom’ App (available on Android or iOS) to a compatible device and select the source and desired Multiroom Link speaker for playback.*

Australians can play any digital track from their personal collection or from a music streaming service, all controlled from a compatible smartphone or tablet. Selected Samsung Blu-rayTM players and Samsung Smart TVs can also act as a music source, while compatible Samsung Soundbars and Samsung Home Theatre System speakers can provide outputs.*

Music streaming services

Samsung has partnered with Spotify to allow users to play from more than two Samsung Wireless Audio Multiroom speakers at once – the first time for Spotify Connect.*

Selected online music services available using the Multiroom App include Pandora, Spotify Connect, TuneIn Radio, Deezer, RDIO, Murfie, and 8Tracks.
