What is Edge Enhancement in Samsung TV ?

Last Update date : 2017.05.10

Edge Enhancement is a feature in your Samsung TV that tries to improve the apparent sharpness (acutance) of the image or video. Similar to the TV’s ‘Sharpness’ option, edge enhancement differs by trying to filter out any artificial edging.

Edge Enhancement identifies an image's sharp edge boundary, such as that between a subject and a background of a contrasting colour. This has the effect of creating bright and dark highlights on either side of any edge in the image, called overshoot and undershoot, making the edge look more defined when viewed.
