Why can't I receive iMessages?

After using Samsung Smart Switch to transfer from an Apple® device to a Samsung device, previous conversations that took place over iMessage® can no longer be replied to and new iMessages from contacts are not received by the Samsung device. You might not be able to get SMS or text messages that someone sends you from an Apple device because they're still being sent as iMessage.

 
This can happen if you used iMessage then transferred your SIM card to a non-Apple device (like Android or Windows).

 


If you still have your Apple Device


Step 1: If you paired an Apple Watch with your device, Unpair it.


Step 2: Backup your Apple device


Step 3: Put the SIM card you transferred back into your Apple device.


Step 4: Make sure that you're connected to your operators mobile data network (such as 3G or LTE).


Step 5: Tap Settings → Messages and turn off iMessage.


Step 6: Tap Settings → FaceTime and turn off FaceTime.  

 

 

If you don't have your Apple Device or can't turn off iMessage


You can deregister iMessage online.
https://selfsolve.apple.com/deregister-imessage


Step 1: Enter your phone number, and click Send Code.


Step 2: When you receive the confirmation code, enter it and click Submit.


After you deregister, your service number is removed from iMessage services. Text messaging should function as expected instantly, however in some cases this may take up to a few hours.

 

If you have other Apple devices, iMessages to your Apple ID will still be received by devices that have iMessage enabled.
