While playing a video file on my Galaxy S7 Edge, some distortion on edge part seems to occur.

Last Update date : 2017.05.10

Galaxy S7 Edge device supports the curved full screen while playing the video. Due to curved edge screen’s design, you may feel that the video on the edge screen, as it appears, is distorted. This is natural due to the curved edge screen, however, it does not affect the device performance. Also, colours on the curved screen may look different depending on your viewing position.

Due to a phenomenon called WAD (White Angular Dependency), which is due to the inclined curved surface of the S7 Edge  screen, the colours display or appear a bit darker. For an AMOLED display, the WAD phenomenon results in the colour white sometimes appearing to have a Green tint, or occasionally a Blue or Yellow tint when viewing the AMOLED at an angle. Because of a phenomenon like this, you may feel the video on edge screen is distorted but this is a normal operation by the device design concept.
