Galaxy S8: How to setup Fingerprint lock

   Fingerprint Scanner 

 

The Fingerprint scanner, now located at the back of the device next to the rear camera for an intuitive unlock experience, unlocks your phone in one seamless move without the need to wake-up the screen. 

 

How to setup Fingerprint lock

Note: Lock screen via the Fingerprint scanner cannot be created without an alternate lock screen security method.

 

● Step 1: Go to the Settings menu  Lock screen and security.

Step 2: Tap Fingerprint Scanner.

Step 3: Tap on Continue to proceed.

Step 4: To use fingerprints securely, you need to set a Pattern, PIN, or Password. Select one of the three options to proceed. If you have previously setup a secure screen lock authentication, skip to Step 6.

Step 5: Once you have set up your secure screen lock, select Continue and re-enter the same security and then tap on Confirm.

Step 6: Get ready to add your fingerprint. Place a finger on the fingerprint sensor, lift it off, and then repeat.

Step 7: To register your fingerprint, move your finger left or right slightly between attempts making sure your finger covers the entire sensor.

Step 8: Your fingerprint has now been registered. Tap on Add to add another fingerprint or tap on Done to proceed.

Step 9: Device will prompt you if you wish to enable Fingerprint Unlock. Tap on Turn On to enable Fingerprint Unlock.
