How to set up your Samsung Galaxy S8 


● Step 1: Tap Start.

Step 2: It is recommended to have a valid Internet connection whilst in the setup process. Select a Wi-Fi network to connect to. However, if you are already connected to the Internet via Mobile Data, tap Next.

Step 3: Read the Terms and conditions. If you agree to all, please tap Next.

Step 4: A valid Google account is required. Please enter your Google account details and then tap Next.

Step 5: Enter the password to your Google account and then tap Next.

Step 6: Read the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy. Once you agree, tap Accept.

Step 7: You can select the Google services you wish to use. Once selected, tap the Down arrow and then Next.

Step 8: You can choose from any of the backups that you have created on a previous device. Please select one of the backups. However, if you wish to start fresh, tap Don't restore.

Step 9: You will be able to select from one of the below Device security options:

Set up Face recognition

Set up Fingerprint Scanner

Set up Iris Scanner

Set up PIN, pattern, or password

No, thank you (Note: Device security can always be set up at a later time.)


Once you have set up, or wish to set up your Device security at a later time, tap Next.

Step 10: Device will display Completing setup screen.

Step 11: Signing into your Samsung account will provide you with extra features and benefits. Tap Sign in and fill out your account details and password.

Step 12: Tap Next. If any previous backups were created onto your Samsung account, you can choose to Restore from Samsung Cloud.


If you have an old device, you can copy content from your old device with Samsung Smart Switch. If you wish to start fresh, tap Skip.

Step 13: Read and select the features you wish to use. Once confirmed, tap Finish.

Step 14: The Setup is now successfully completed.
