How to setup Parental controls on the Google Play Store

Setting up a Parental controls restricts the user from installing or purchasing anything from

the Google Play Store on your device. It is locked with a password that you will need to create throughout

the setup phase. The user will only be able to install or purchase an app once the password has been entered.


To find out how enable Parental controls, please follow the steps below:


Step 1: Open the Play Store app.

Step 2: Tap on the Menu button located at the top left of the screen.

Step 3: Tap on Settings.

Step 4: Tap on Parental controls. Then tap on the switch to activate the feature.

Step 5: You will now need to Create content PIN. It's recommended to use a PIN which you will not forget

but safe from somebody else that may know. Confirm your selected PIN.

Step 6: Once PIN has been created, you may Set content restrictions


● Apps & Games: Choose the highest maturity level of content you want to allow for download or purchase.

● Films & TV: Choose the highest maturity level of content you want to allow for download or purchase.      

● Music and Books: Choose whether you want to restrict downloads or purchases of explicit content.          

Step 6


Note: Please take not that the Parental controls only applies to the current device.

It will not remember the settings on another device. Hence, you will need to repeat the following steps

if you wish to activate the Parental controls.
