What is the Separate app sound feature?

The 'Separate app sound' feature on the Galaxy S8 | S8+ allows you to play sound from one app on a speaker or headphones, separate from the rest of the sounds on your device.

For example, let's say you're playing music from your device whilst also using navigation, you can use the Separate app sound feature to have your music from a connected Bluetooth audio device such as your car audio system while your navigation audio plays from the speaker of your Samsung Galaxy S8.

How to setup the Separate app sound feature

● Step 1: Go to the Settings menu → Sound and vibration.

Step 1

Step 2: Scroll down and tap on Separate app sound.

Step 2

Step 3: Toggle on the switch located near the top right of the screen to activate the Separate app sound feature.

Step 3

Step 4: You will be prompted to select which App and Audio device you would like to use. Tap on Select to proceed.

Step 4

Step 5: In the App menu, select the app you wish to play.

Step 5

Step 6: In the Audio device menu, select whether you want the sound from your chosen app to be played on the phone or via one of your Bluetooth connected devices.

Step 6

Setup has been completed for the selected App. If you wish to apply the Separate app sound feature on another app, please repeat the steps above.
