How to backup to Google 

Read the guide below to learn how to backup your data using services such as, your Google account, Google Photos & Google Drive.

 

Note: If you do not have a Google account, click here to find out how to create one. Also a valid Internet connection is required to backup/restore.

 

What can be backed up?

- Wi-Fi passwords

- Call logs

- App settings

- App data

- Photos & Videos

- Files

 

Firstly you will need to enable the Google backup settings:

 

● Step 1: Go into the Settings menu Cloud and accounts.

Step 2: Tap on Backup and restore.

Step 2

 

Step 3: Toggle the switch to ensure that Back up my data and Automatic restore has been enabled.

How to backup Photos and Videos via Google Photos

With the use of Google Photos you can safely store your photos and videos, which can be automatically backed up. You can easily access your photos and videos, anywhere & anytime.

 

● Step 1: Go into the Apps menu and open Google Photos.

● Step 2: Tap on the More tab located near the top left side of the screen.

● Step 3: Tap on Settings.

Step 3

 

● Step 4: Tap on Backup & sync.

Step 4

 

● Step 5: Enable Back up & sync by toggling the switch.

Step 5

 

● Step 6: Select the Google account you wish to use. (Note: If you only have one Google account, proceed to Step 7.)

● Step 7: Your photos and videos will start syncing to Google Photos. (Note: Your photos will start syncing to Google Photos only when your device is connected to the Internet via Wi-Fi unless you have enabled Mobile data backup.)

How to backup data using Google Drive

● Step 1: Go into the Apps menu and open Google Drive.

● Step 2: Tap on the Add icon located near the bottom right of the screen.

Step 2

 

● Step 3: Tap on Upload.

Step 3

 

● Step 4: You can tap on the More tab located near the top left of the screen to specify the file type you wish to search for. Otherwise you can tap on Recent to display the most recent files.

● Step 5: Select a file to upload.

Step 5

 

● Step 6: Google Drive will not proceed with uploading via Mobile data unless told to do so. (Note: Uploads will begin once your device has been connected to the Internet via Wi-Fi. If you wish to proceed with uploading the file via Mobile data, simply tap on the arrow icon.)

Step 6

 

● Step 7: File has been successfully uploaded onto Google Drive.
