Troubleshooting Ghosting on my TV

Last Update date : 2017.10.10

LED TVs have lower power consumption, longer life, lower discolour and higher brightness characteristics than a LCD. When you watch a dark scene, by setting display picture values to brighten, you may notice a clouding phenomenon (ghosting). Samsung recommends the following settings to minimise backlight bleeding:

Step 1: Make sure that the TV is connected to the source and the power point (power outlet).

Step 2: Try connecting the TV to a different source to identify whether the issue is with the TV or the source.

Step 3: Power cycle both the TV and the source. Make sure to unplug both the TV and the source from the power point, wait for at least one minute before plugging and turning them back On.

Step 4: Reset the picture settings by going to Menu → Picture → Picture Options → Picture Reset.

Step 5: If the issue persists, please check if your TV is on the latest version of firmware. If the firmware is out-dated, install any pending updates.

Some models have an Auto Motion Function, you can enable or disable this feature to resolve ghosting by selecting Menu → Picture → Picture Options → Auto Motion Plus.
