Samsung TV: There is flickering and dimming on my TV

Last Update date : 2017.05.11

If your Samsung Television is flickering or dimming sporadically, you may need to disable some of its energy efficiency features such as the Eco Sensor or the Energy Saving feature to keep the brightness level consistent.

To disable these features, follow the steps given below.

Disabling Eco Sensor:

Eco Sensor senses the level of ambient light in any room and adjusts the screen brightness accordingly.

1. Press the MENU button on the remote.

2. Use the up and down arrow keys to scroll down to select System, then press ENTER.

3. Locate and select Eco Solution.

4. Use the arrow keys again to find Eco Sensor, then press ENTER to select.

5. Press ENTER again to see the ON and OFF options. Select OFF to disable the Eco Sensor feature.

6. Then, press EXIT to clear your screen of menu options.

Keep in mind that any object blocking your TV's Eco Sensor may impact its effectiveness and cause unnecessary dimming. If Eco Sensor is not the issue, and you're still having dimming and flickering issues, try disabling the Energy Saving feature.

Disabling Energy Saving feature:

When the Energy Saving feature is set to Auto, the TV changes its brightness automatically depending on what you are watching on the TV.

1. Press MENU button on the remote.

2. Scroll down to System then press ENTER to select.

3. Locate and select Eco Solution.

4. With Energy Saving is highlighted, press ENTER.

5. Use the arrow keys to selet any options other than Medium or High. And if you still experience flickering with the Low setting, you may want to simply turn the feature OFF.

6. Now, press EXIT to clear your television's screen of menu options.

If problems persist after disabling the Eco Sensor or Automatic Energy Saving feature, try testing the TV on a different source. The issue could be a result of an external device or a cable connecting to the TV.
