Project Manager (WT1000)

Position Summary:
Incumbent, under moderate supervision, is responsible for coordinating and managing product through the development life cycle. Serves as the project prime to the customer and will assemble and maintain customer requirements. Coordinates field testing with technical team, marketing materials with 3rd party agents, tech writers and Head Office personnel to ensure timely successful product delivery. Responsibilities also include the establishment of effective working relationships with sales, marketing and other 3rd party agents in order to drive product development and the launch schedule.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Other duties may be assigned. In this position, either directly or through others, the incumbent will:

  • Serves as the company’s liaison to the customer for development and launch of products and all collateral materials
  • Assembles and maintains customer requirements.
  • Project management of all tasks necessary with Head Office personnel, local, Sales, Marketing, Corporate R&D and Technical Test teams to ensure timely product development and launch schedule.
  • Determines, in conjunction with development representatives, the proper course of action based on customer input.
  • Collects and compiles input as necessary to manage Product Development/Launch requirements.
  • House-keeping of all project materials (software releases, specification documents, customer communications and correspondences, provisioning and development).
  • Focal Point for Project status.
  • Communicate status to Product Planning and Export team, collect and compile input as necessary
  • Coordinate and chair New Product Introduction, NPI, meetings with major stakeholders (Product Management, Sales, Marketing and Technical Field Test to drive product launch schedule and update project/product issues).
  • Work with Head Office Export and Product Planning teams for the preparation and presentation of product roadmaps to customers.

Background/Experience to qualify for this position, the following minimal background and skill levels are required:

  • Bachelors Degree, from an accredited university in telecommunication / engineering.
  • Should have a minimum of 3-5 years experience in a project management or wireless telecommunications position requiring direct development experience preferably in product launch capacity.
  • Experience in a marketing or sales product management or development department or functional company group developing, compiling, and presenting information on products and services.
  • Experience researching and resolving customer technical complaints and issues.
  • Previous experience with CDMA, UMTS, HSPA.
  • Good knowledge of wireless technologies and general functions of wireless terminals.
