The fist time for a Korean businessman, Chairman Kun-Hee Lee of SAMSUNG Group was named by TIME magazine as one of the World's Top 100 Influential People.
TIME 100, published on April 10 local time, is the list of the most distinguished people in the world, compiled by TIME magazine's editors in the U.S., Europe, and Asia based on people recommended by the magazine's foreign correspondents.
The list of 100 people includes those who exerted the greatest influence upon the people's lives in six categories: Leaders and Revolutionaries, Artists and Entertainers, Entrepreneurs, Builders and Titans, Scientists and Thinkers, Heroes and Icons.
Chairman Kun-Hee Lee was named among the Builders and Titans, and TIME praised him for developing the once-unknown SAMSUNG to the level where it rivals SONY in the global household appliances industry. [TIME]

Japanese business weekly Toyo Keizai carried an in-depth report about the secrets of SAMSUNG's success in a 12-page special feature story about Korean conglomerates titled "Solving Mysteries of Charging Korean Wave Management," in its February 26th issue. The influential business magazine explained that the combination of Chairman Kun-Hee Lee's strong leadership, ceaseless investment in building talented human resources, and swift management process contributed to the success.
