Samsung Mobilers 2012
Samsung Canada teams up with youth across Canada to fuel their passions
This past September Samsung Canada teamed up with CampusPerks to create a program that would showcase and reward a group of exceptional students dedicated to pursuing their passion. The idea - Pursue your passions came from Samsung Canada’s rally cry, and youth across Canada raised their hands to join the conversation.
Hundreds of students were interviewed and applied, 80 were shortlisted by Samsung Canada and featured nationally, but only the Top 20 went on to become official Samsung Campus Mobilers. A title awarded in recognition of their dedication to pursue the things they love. These student leaders pursue a variety of interests and passions from athletics, to philanthropy, to the arts and more.

These students were rewarded with over $50000 in prizing and funding from Samsung Canada. The program involved mini challenges to complete over the month of October and all were created with the thought to get these student leaders better connected, recognized and funded on campus.

Armed with a brand new Samsung Galaxy S III the Samsung Campus Mobilers created videos, Pintrest Boards, Tumblr pages, blog posts and more to capture and display what it is that they are passionate about and what other students on their campus love. What started as a conversation amongst the Campus Mobilers networks turned into a movement that got students, professors and school administrations from across Canada talking and challenging people to pursue their own passions.
Along the way the Samsung Campus Mobilers were able to pay-it-forward by rewarding other great student leaders on their campus with a Samsung Galaxy S III so that they too could better pursue what it is they love most. The Samsung Galaxy S III enabled these students to stand out and get better connected with their community and their passions.

As a finale to the program the Top 20 created events that united their campus by hosting unique events to celebrate their passions. Students created fundraisers for the non-profits they love, held cross campus races to get students active, hosted socials to unite campus clubs and more. The Samsung Campus Mobilers program was a grassroots movement around a simple idea that impacted thousands of students, families and communities across Canada.
Samsung Canada is proud to recognize the Top 20 Samsung Campus Mobilers as true advocates and visionaries in their fields – Congratulations! To join the conversation check out some of the amazing work from the Top 20 Samsung Campus Mobilers below.
