Recycling Batteries Responsibly
The European Directive on Batteries and Accumulators aims to minimise the impact of batteries on the environment and encourage the recovery of the materials they contain. In the UK, regulations on the recycling of batteries and accumulators (rechargeable batteries) were Introduced in 2009. The Waste Batteries Regulations aim to significantly increase UK collection and recycling of used portable batteries from 3% in 2007 to 25% by 2012, rising to at least 45% in 2016.
The battery symbol on a product or on its packaging indicates that the product must not be disposed of with general household waste. Instead, it is the consumer’s responsibility to dispose of their waste batteries at a designated collection point so that they can be recycled. The separate collection and recycling of batteries at the time of dispo sal will help to conserve natural resources and ensure that they are recycled in a manner that protects human health and the environment. A comprehensive list of battery recycling centres can be obtained from: www.recycle-more.co.uk
All Samsung products that are subject to the Batteries Directive are compliant with the UK battery and accumulator Requirements. In accordance with national law, SAMSUNG Electronics (UK) Ltd is a member of an approved batteries producer compliance scheme. This scheme collects, treats and disposes of batteries on Samsung’s behalf.

Owners Overall Ratings
Satisfied with filter performance and lifespan; great fridge
This is our second fridge with water filter. The previous one, not a Samsung, did not deliver very cold water and the filter was extremely difficultto change.
We are quite happy with this one (a french door model), especially how easy it is to change the filter. We've had it for a year, and have changed the filter every 6 months. We live in a very hard-water area, so I think that's really good performance. We also use the filtered water with a home soda-making machine, and it tastes fabulous. I wish all these filters were less expensive, but Samsung's are comparable with the other brands. On balance we're very happy with the performance of the fridge and the filter, and would highly recommend the Samsung brand for anyone looking for an excellent-quality, good-value fridge.Show more +
I changed the filter with ease and water was great but my only down fall you can find other non samsung filters that work the same for cheaper. But it was a great filter i just found it cheaper somewhere else.
Water slows to a drip after a few weeks
I used to use these filters on city water for months and everything was fine, now we're on well water going through a softener and in just a few weeks the water basically stops flowing.
We've tried two of these now and feel ripped off. Waste of money. Could be faulty batch or just not friendly with soft water?!?Show more +
Life expectancy of filter does not meet expectations.
These filters work fine, but only for a short period. In my experience they do not meet the specified 6 month life span. After about 2 months the water flow drops down to a slow dribble and I have to replace again.
These filters are expensive and when you have to replace them so often they do not represent good value. Note that I have had to replace 5 filters over the 1 year I have owned the fridge.Show more +
