Recycling Batteries Responsibly

  • The European Directive on Batteries and Accumulators aims to minimise the impact of batteries on the environment and encourage the recovery of the materials they contain. In the UK, regulations on the recycling of batteries and accumulators (rechargeable batteries) were Introduced in 2009. The Waste Batteries Regulations aim to significantly increase UK collection and recycling of used portable batteries from 3% in 2007 to 25% by 2012, rising to at least 45% in 2016.

  • The battery symbol on a product or on its packaging indicates that the product must not be disposed of with general household waste. Instead, it is the consumer’s responsibility to dispose of their waste batteries at a designated collection point so that they can be recycled. The separate collection and recycling of batteries at the time of dispo sal will help to conserve natural resources and ensure that they are recycled in a manner that protects human health and the environment. A comprehensive list of battery recycling centres can be obtained from: www.recycle-more.co.uk

  • All Samsung products that are subject to the Batteries Directive are compliant with the UK battery and accumulator Requirements. In accordance with national law, SAMSUNG Electronics (UK) Ltd is a member of an approved batteries producer compliance scheme. This scheme collects, treats and disposes of batteries on Samsung’s behalf.

Better than a laptop

Since I've had my notepro 12, I have no use for my windows laptop. Even creating Word docs is easy with it. Runs fast. Easy to use. Intelligent. Power full.

Amazing multi tasking. Connects to PC, but not sure what for. Lightweight easy to hold.

It still needs to improve the Snote application

It needs to improve the Snote application. When you to import a jpeg, it does not allow you to import the whole jpeg, also when you import it and want to write on it, it slides itself.

Also you cannot import direct from Dropbox. Also when you want to import something from the files directory you have to do a lot of steps to find something instead of remembering what you previously have done.

Very fast and light for its size.

I have rather large hands and was very glad to see Samsung come out with a 12.2. I was planning on getting the 10.1 (2014) when this came out and I jumped on it.

It's more or less the exact same tablet as the Note 10.1 (2014) only with the larger size and a very small difference in UX. I was amazed at how light and thin it is for a 12.2" screen; I read ebooks in bed with it every night and it has never felt heavy. The Magazine UX is pretty enough, but could use more options (Facebook, native Gmail, better twitter and simple widgets like a calculator, alarm clock, etc., also for WatchOn to be something other than basically a giant link to the app). The screen is rather lovely but that's a staple with Samsung products. I keep it on auto brightness which works fairly well. The Wacom digitizer works great, I've done a number of small sketches and jotted down notes with success. The battery lasts a nice, long time when using it lightly (days with web browsing or ebook reading) and lasts a respectable amount of time when pushing it playing games or watching hd movies (probably around 10 hours or so). Some people think it takes too long to charge but I've never really ran into that problem. If it's below 30% when I go to sleep, I plug it in and it's back to full in the morning. The built-in speakers are nice and loud if a bit tinny. But really, what do we expect from speakers this small? It's down to physics why they can't have a nice, full low end. They're definitely good enough for listening to this and that and for more serious listening, you'll of course be plugging in/syncing headphones. A few cons are the rather lackluster 8MP camera, but who really uses their tablet to take pictures? I have my trusty Nikon DSLR for that. Another is rather poor customization options, there isn't much you can do to change the way it looks from stock. (I tried a few launchers but they're a bit lacking on a tablet, I was rather mystified as to why the phone version of the same launcher had many more options) All in all, I would recommend this tablet over the 10.1 to those with larger hands, and also for artists. The extra screen real estate really makes a difference when sketching. A bit pricey, but it's a flagship product. Those wanting the best know by now that it costs money to achieve that.
