Samsung proves that small fridges can have big capacity

MISSISSAUGA, ON – September 25, 2012 – Samsung Electronics Canada today announced the availability of its new 30” wide, 65.4” high (cabinet height) French door fridge featuring 22 cu. ft. of interior capacity. Excellent for smaller spaces, condominiums and newly renovated homes, the new Samsung 30” French Door Fridge is shorter than other fridges in its class yet delivers the largest capacity with 2 more cu. ft. of space compared to the competition.

“Samsung is passionate about finding the right fridge for every customer,” said Warner Doell, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Home Appliances, Samsung Canada. “Size matters in the kitchen and finding the right appliances is essential. We are excited about this 30” fridge because the width and height are perfect for smaller kitchens without compromising on capacity and style.”

The Samsung 30” French Door Fridge boasts a sleek design and promises to enhance the aesthetic value of any kitchen. With functional features including an optional internal water dispenser, a wide pantry drawer, cantilevered shelves, an auto pullout freezer compartment and wide door bins, this new fridge truly is the perfect fit, without any compromises. The 30” width and, in particular, lower height (66.8” total, 65.4” cabinet) are significant for consumers with older home structures who previously had to make-do with fridges that didn’t quite fit. With Samsung’s new model they can now easily upgrade their fridge and their overall kitchen décor.

Additional features of the Samsung 30” French Door Fridge include:

Energy Efficiency
Samsung’s 30” fridge models are Energy Star® qualified, Tier 2 rated per CEE and come with high efficiency (HE) LED interior lights. Compared to conventional appliance light bulbs, LED lights last much longer and burn more efficiently than traditional bulbs. This translates to savings through an extended period of time, which saves money on bulb replacement and less electricity burned. Other benefits include brighter illumination and less heat emission, meaning food near the top will not feel warmer due to direct heat impact above.

Digital Inverter Compressor
The inverter compressor is powered by an inverter motor that has variable RPMs. This is more advanced than conventional AC compressors that have single RPMs settings. Samsung’s Digital Inverter Compressors allow for higher RPMs during the day when refrigerators are opened frequently and lower RPMs during the night when they are not, providing energy efficiency and quiet operation.

Cantilevered Shelves
The Samsung 30” French Door Fridge provides a four-split shelf, cantilevered structure. This structure is ideal for those wanting ultimate flexibility in storing tall items, and presents a clean, well-organized look. Also, the auto pullout freezer top compartment simultaneously comes out together with the freezer door, giving you instant access to any item stocked in the top compartment.

Wide Pantry Drawer and Door Bins
The wide pantry drawer pulls out thoroughly to the end as the lid lifts up while taking out vegetables, making storage of items easier and faster. Sizable crispers provide optimum humidity level to preserve vitamins and nutrients in fruits and vegetables. The 30” French Door Fridge gets class-leading capacity thanks to its wide and deep door bins capable of storing bulky items, like gallon bottles.

The Samsung 30” French Door Fridge is available at retailors for $1499.99 - $1799.99 depending on finishes and features.
