Galaxy Tab S2: How do I uninstall or turn off an application on my Samsung Galaxy Tab S2?

Disable Application


To make the most of your device's internal storage capacity, you can uninstall or disable applications you don't use. Downloaded applications can be uninstalled, and preloaded applications can be disabled.

Uninstall Downloaded Applications


Note: Applcations preloaded on your device cannot be uninstalled. You can only uninstall updates or disable preloaded applications.

You can use the Apps menu to uninstall Android™ applications you have downloaded to your device.

1. From the Home screen, touch AppsIcon_Apps_8_15.png > EDIT.

2. Tap minusicon_1.png next to the application you want to uninstall.

3. Tap UNINSTALL to finish.


Using the Application Manager

From the Application manager, you can uninstall any applications and application updates you have downloaded.

1. From the Home screen, touch Apps Icon_Apps_8_15.png > Settings Icon_Settings_2_12.png.

2. Touch Applications Icon_Settings_Applications.png > Application manager.

3. In the DOWNLOADED tab, touch the application you want to uninstall.

4. Touch UNINSTALL > UNINSTALL.

5. Applications preloaded on your device cannot be uninstalled, but you can uninstall any updates you have applied by touching UNINSTALL UPDATES > OK.

Disable Preloaded Applications


Note: If updates are uninstalled, you may need to apply any updates via Galaxy Apps or Google Play™ Store once you turn the application back ON.

From the Apps menu, you can turn OFF preloaded applications. Once turned OFF, the application will be hidden and will not be accessible until it is turned back ON.

1. From the Home screen, touch AppsIcon_Apps_8_16.png > EDIT.

2. Touch icon_delete2.png next to the application you want to turn OFF.

3. Touch DISABLE to proceed.

4. If any updates were installed, you will be prompted to uninstall updates and replace with the factory version. Touch UNINSTALL to finish turning OFF the application.

Using the Application Manager

1. From the Home screen, touch Apps Icon_Apps_8_16.png > Settings Icon_Settings_2_13.png.

2. Touch Applications Icon_Settings_Applications.png > Application manager.

3. Swipe to the ALL tab and touch the application you want to turn OFF.

4. Touch DISABLE.

5. If any updates were installed, you will be prompted to uninstall updates and replace with the factory version. Touch UNINSTALL to finish turning OFF the application.

Turn On Disabled Applications


1. From the Home screen, touch Apps Screenshot_2015-08-22-05-24-59copy2.png > Settings Icon_Settings_2_13.png.

3. Swipe to the DISABLED tab and touch the application you want to turn back ON.

4. Touch ENABLE to turn application back ON.
