Hi, I just started using this brand new induction stove, but as soon as I lift the edge of a pot (e.g. to stir the contents), the burner turns off! It is very difficult to cook with. How do I keep the burner from turning off so easily? Also, the front large burner seems to turn off by itself. Why does this happen? How can I fix it? Meena

The first part of the question: I always keep the pot on the stove. Why lift it while cooking? The power goes off - that is a safety bonus. I do not know the answer to the second part. Never happened to me.

The range should re engage the element if you place the pot back within the element within 6-8 seconds. If you are having issues with the range, please contact 1-800-SAMSUNG to setup service to check out the range.

I have an option to buy this stove at Lowes for a very good price as I live in Canada and am buying in the USA I will not get a warrantee with it. Do you recommend buy it or is the warrantee essential?

My experience with Samsung products (I have 6 major - fridge, this range, Large screen TVs, camera) is that I never had a problem (DLP tv is 9 yrs old). I would buy in the USA, if the price is good. But if you need repairs, I suspect that the price will be high. The US model number will be different, but the product is the same. It is rated 40 amp there, but 60 amp here. I suspect it is identical, except for the instructions manual.

The warranty is not essential but it is good to have just in case you do run into parts requests for the unit. Any issues with the range will not be covered.

What type of cleaner did you use on the surface? If you would like to have service come out and look at the unit, please contact 1-800-SAMSUNG.

    Induction burners

    A wales 2 years ago

The induction burners on our oven don't seem to be working....we use a cast iron pot that has an uneven bottom and it still doesn't work. We are worried that the induction is broken but the stove is out of warranty....please help!

Our induction ranges need a FLAT bottom pot. The uneven pot will not have enough surface contact to create a full circuit. Check your other cookware with a magnet to figure out if they can be used with induction. If a magnet sticks to the pot, its induction ready.
