How To Reset The Water Filter Indicator On The French Door Refrigerator?

Changing the water filter on time provides you with the freshnest, cleanest water from your refrigerator. Your French Door refrigerator is equipped with a water filter indicator light that reminds you when it is time to replace the water filter. Typically, you should replace the water filter every 6 months. The indicator light changes color as time passes.

1. Normally the filter indicator is blue, yellow, or green when you purchase or install your refrigerator, depending on your model.

2. After you use about 270 gallons of water, the filter indicator turns (color may vary by model) Light Pink. (about 5 months)

3. After you use about 300 gallons of water, the filter indicator turns Red. (about 6 months)

4. Remove the old water filter and install a new one when the filter indicator is red. Reset the filter indicator by pressing Alarm/Hold 3 sec for Filter Reset button for 3 sec. The filter indicator turns blue, yellow, or green when you reset the indicator.

Filter Indicator Reset

Reset the filter indicator light by using one of the 3 options, depending on the model:

Option 1: Press and hold the Alarm button for 3 - 5 seconds.


Option 2: Press and hold the Ice/Water button for 3 - 5 seconds.


Option 3: Press and hold the Ice Type/Water button for 3 - 5 seconds.
