Galaxy Gear™ - How do I use Bluetooth® Low Energy (BLE) technology ?

Last Update date : 2015.03.12

Galaxy Gear™ - Bluetooth®

Bluetooth® is a wireless connectivity feature that has a short range and low power consumption. Your Samsung Galaxy Gear™ uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to connect and share information with a mobile device. Connecting multiple devices via the Bluetooth feature is not supported.

To access the Bluetooth settings, from the Clock screen, swipe to the right to access Settings 1 > Bluetooth Bluetooth icon . To turn off Bluetooth, uncheck the box next to Bluetooth. If you turn off Bluetooth, the device will no longer be able to communicate with a mobile device.

If you have not connected to a mobile device, you can enable visibility on the Galaxy Gear; otherwise, it will be grayed out. Place a check mark next to Visibility, which will make the device visible to all nearby Bluetooth devices. When the box is marked, a countdown timeout is displayed until the Galaxy Gear is no longer visible. If the timer reaches 0:00, touch the checkbox to reset the timer.
