How To Disable The TVs Internal Speakers (2014 Models)

Last Update date : 2014.11.21

Sound Spekaer Settings

IMPORTANT: The Speaker Select function differs from the Mute function. The Speaker Select function turns off the TV's built in speakers. However it does not turn off the audio out jacks. Home Theater Systems, speakers, or receivers attached to the audio out jacks will continue to play. The Mute function turns off all audio, including the audio out jacks.

Turning the Speakers Off

1.Press the MENU button on your remote. [The Main menu appears]

2.Navigate to and select Sound. [The Sound menu appears]

3.Navigate to and select Speaker Settings.

4.TV Sound Output will be highlighted by default. Select TV Sound Output and open the pop-up menu.

5.Navigate to and select to Audio Out.

6.Select OK at the bottom of the page to save and exit.

• When you turn on the Audio Out (Internal Mute) function, the Mute button on your remote will not operate.

• The instructions above work for most Samsung TVs that have the Audio Out (Internal Mute) function. They may not work for your TV. For exact instructions, see your TV's user's manual. Look for a section titled Enjoying the Sound of External Speakers. If your TV's user's manual does not have an Enjoying the Sound of External Speakers section, you cannot turn off the TV's speakers.
