Power Saving Mode


NOTE: Screens and settings available may vary by wireless service provider and software version.

Power saving modes let you set your device to conserve battery power.* Choose between Power saving mode and Ultra power saving mode.

* Battery power consumption depends on factors such as network configuration, wireless service provider, signal strength, operating temperature, features selected, vibrate mode, backlight settings, browser use, frequency of calls and voice, data, and other applications' usage patterns.

Turn On Power Saving Mode


Power saving mode limits performance to conserve battery power. You can choose which features you want to restrict.

1. From the Home screen, touch Apps 1 .

2. Touch Settings 1 .

3. Scroll down and touch Power saving1 under SYSTEM .

4. Touch Power saving mode.

5. Touch the slider 1 to turn Power saving mode on 1 .

The following options are available:

Restrict background data: Reduce background data usage to conserve battery power. Some applications will still use the data connection.

Restrict performance: Touch the slider 1 to turn Restrict performance on 1 . Mark the checkbox next to each function you want to turn on to restrict performance.

    • CPU performance: Limit the maximum performance of the CPU to conserve battery power.

    • Screen output: Use a lower frame rate and power level for your device's screen.

    • Turn off touch key light: The Recent apps 1 and Back 1 buttons on the front of your device will not light up when they are touched or when the Home1 key is pressed.

    • Turn off GPS: Turn off location services and GPS functions on your device.

Grayscale mode: Convert color screens to battery-friendly grayscale. Touch the slider 1 to turn Grayscale mode on 1 .

Turn On Ultra Power Saving Mode


Use Ultra power saving mode to switch your device's screen to grayscale and turn off nonessential applications so you get the maximum battery life. With Ultra power saving mode turned on, even if you're down to a 10% charge, you can receive calls and texts for up to 24 hours.*

1. From the Home screen, touch Apps 1 .

2. Touch Settings 1 .

3. Scroll down and touch Power saving1 under SYSTEM .

5. Touch the slider 1 to turn Ultra power saving mode on 1 .

6. Mark the checkbox to agree to the Terms and conditions and touch OK.

7. Review the changes Ultra power saving mode will make to your device and touch Turn on.

8. The Phone, Messages, and Internet applications are automatically available in Ultra power saving mode. Touch 1 to make up to three more applications available.

Turn Off Ultra Power Saving Mode


1. Touch More options1 > Turn off Ultra power saving mode.

2. Touch Turn off or Disable.

NOTE: To adjust Network Connections, Sound, and Display settings in Ultra power saving mode, touch More options1 > Settings.

Power Saving Tips


Your device provides options that help you conserve battery power. By customizing these options and turning off features in the background, you can use your device longer between charges:

    • Turn off the Bluetooth® feature.

    • Turn off Wi-Fi®.

    • Turn off the GPS service.

    • Turn off the mobile data connection.

    • Turn off auto-syncing of accounts.

    • Turn off the Smart features.

    • Discontinue use of Live wallpapers.

    • Decrease the backlight time (timeout settings).

    • Decrease the brightness of the display, or use Automatic brightness.

    • Turn off haptic feedback.
