Note Edge - How do I use the Side key panel in one-handed operation on my Samsung Galaxy Note Edge?

Side Key Panel

Note: Screens and settings available may vary by wireless service provider and software version.

Display up to four quick-access buttons within easy reach of your thumb by turning on the Side key panel. The panel can include the Recent apps, Home, and Back keys, as well as quick access to the Reduce screen size feature, the Apps menu, and More options (if available for the content you are viewing).

Turn On Side Key Panel

1. From the Home screen, touch Apps 1 .

2. Touch Settings 1 .

3. Touch One-handed operation 1 .

Note: Some devices may display One-handed operation settings under Display 1 or Display and wallpaper 1 .

4. Touch Side key panel and touch the slider 1 to turn Side key panel on 1 .


Move Side Key Panel

To move the Side key panel around the screen, touch and hold 1 and then drag it to a new location.


Turn Off Side Key Panel

To remove the Side key panel, touch and hold 1 and drag it to Remove 1 at the top of the screen.

Note: See the Side key panel settings below for ways to hide or minimize the panel without turning it off.

Side Key Panel Settings

To access the Side key panel settings, touch and hold 1 in the Side key panel and drag it to Edit 1 .

Note: You can also access the settings from the Home screen by touching Apps > Settings > One-handed operation > Side key panel.


• To control the transparency of the panel, touch Transparency and drag the slider.

• Mark the Hide panel when minimized checkbox to have the panel disappear completely when minimized.

• To access the panel when it's hidden, swipe the edge of the screen where the panel was last displayed.

Quick Minimize

• The Quick minimize checkbox is marked by default. When you touch the screen outside of the panel, the buttons are minimized to a white tab on the side of the screen.

• Swipe the tab to reopen the panel.

• Unmark the checkbox to keep the panel open at all times.


Manage Keys

• Touch Manage keys to edit which keys are displayed in the Side key panel.

• Touch and drag a key to add or remove it from the panel, or to rearrange the order of the keys.
