Galaxy S6 - How do I uninstall or disable applications on my Samsung Galaxy S6?

Last Update date : 2015.08.28

To make the most of your device's internal storage capacity, you can uninstall or turn off applications you don't use. Downloaded applications can be uninstalled, and preloaded applications can be turned off.

Note: Screens and settings available may vary by wireless service provider and software version.

Note: Preloaded applications (applications built into your device) cannot be uninstalled. You can only disable them.

Disable Preloaded Applications

Important: If updates or applications are uninstalled, you will need to apply any updates or download the application again via Google Play™ Store, Samsung Galaxy Apps, or the Amazon™ Appstore once you turn on the application.

From the Apps menu, you can turn off preloaded applications. Once turned off, the application will be hidden and will not be accessible until it is turned on.

1. From the Home screen, touch Apps 3 .

2. Touch EDIT at the top of the screen.

3. Touch 3 next to the application you want to turn off.

Note: To turn off an application in a folder, touch the folder and choose Open folder. You can then turn off the application. You can also choose Remove folder to delete the folder. Any application in the folder you delete will return to the Apps menu.

4. A message may warn you about turning off the application. Touch DISABLE to proceed.
