Galaxy Tab S2 - Where are my photos and videos stored on my Samsung Galaxy Tab S2, and how do I move them?

Media Storage

By default, your captured pictures and videos are stored on your device's internal memory. When microSD card is inserted the default storage location will be changed automatically to the SD card. However, burst shots and pictures taken using some downloaded camera modes will still be saved to the device storage.

You can save room on your device by moving pictures, videos, and other files to your microSD™ card.

Note: Screens and settings available may vary by wireless service provider and software version.

Change Default Save Location

Note: Videos and pictures taken using certain camera modes will be saved to the device regardless of the storage location setting.

To change the default save location, follow the steps below:

1. From the Home screen, touch Apps 1 > Camera 1.

2. Touch Camera settings 1.


3. Touch Storage location.


4. Select Device or Memory card to change the default save location.


Move Files to microSD Card

Samsung approved microSD card must be inserted and mounted into device.

1. With Samsung approved microSD card inserted, from the Home screen, touch Apps 1 > My Files 1.


2. To move or copy a specific file type, tap one of the categories to view only the related file types.


1 Images - View any images on the device.

1 Videos - View any videos on the device.

1 Audio - View any audio files on the device. This includes, but is not limited to, music and any recorded audio.

1 Documents - View any documents on the device.

3. For this example, touch Images 1.


4. Touch MORE > Edit.


5. Tap and mark 1 the file(s) to want to move and touch MOVE or to copy files touch MORE > Copy.


6. Touch SD card 1.


7. Select a folder or touch CREATE FOLDER to make a new folder to move files into, and then touch MOVER HERE or PASTE HERE to finish.
