Customise Home Screen


The Home screen is the starting point for using your device. Customize your Home screen by adding application shortcuts, widgets, folders, and using wallpapers.

Home Screen Overview

    •Apps Folder: For your convenience, there are several applications that are grouped into a folder on the main Home screen.
    •Notification icons: Display new messages and emails, notifications, available software updates, and so on.
    •App shortcuts: Shortcuts to your favorite applications.
    •Status Bar: Displays device status icons (right) and notification icons (left).
    •Apps screen: Allows quick access to all of your applications.
    •Status icons: Display information about the device, such as the network signal strength, battery level, the time, and so on.
    •Home screen indicator: Indicates which Home screen is presently displayed.
    •Widget: Self-contained application that runs on the Home screen (not a shortcut).

Manage Home Screens


Your device comes with multiple Home screens to hold apps and widgets. You can rearrange the Home screens in a different order.

1. Touch and hold an empty space or pinch fingers together on the screen.

2. Use these options to manage screens:

    •Add a screen: Swipe to the end of the screens, and then touch Add 1.

    •Remove a screen: Touch and hold on a screen to detach, and then drag it to Remove1 .

    •Set a screen as the main Home screen: Choose a Home screen and touch Main Home screen2 at the top of a screen to set as default Home display screen. This screen displays when you press the Home key 1_1.png .

    •Change the order of screens: Touch and hold a screen to detach, and then drag to a new position.

3. To Exit editing the Home screens, touch Back5_1.png or Home key 1_1.png.

Add App Shortcuts


You can use app shortcuts to launch an app from any Home screen.

Add a Shortcut to a Home Screen

1. From the Home screen, touch Apps Icon_Apps_8_3.png.

2. Touch and hold an app shortcut, drag it to a Home screen and release it.

Remove a Shortcut

1. Touch and hold a shortcut to detach from Home screen.

2. Drag the icon to RemoveGB.png and release it.

Note: Removing a shortcut does not delete the app, it just removes the shortcut from the Home screen.

Add Widgets


Widgets are self-contained apps that run on a Home screen. There are all kinds of widgets, including links to a specific contact, Internet bookmarks, Gmail and email accounts, and many others.

Add a Widget to a Home Screen

1. Touch and hold an empty space or pinch fingers together on the screen.

3. Touch and hold a widget, drag it to a Home screen and release it.

Remove a Widget

1. From a Home screen, touch and hold a widget to detach from Home screen.

2. Drag the widget to RemoveGB.png and release it.

Note: Removing a widget does not delete the widget, it just removes the widget from the Home screen.

Add Folders


Place folders on a Home screen to organize items.

Add a Folder to a Home Screen

1. From a Home screen, touch and hold an app shortcut.

2. Drag the shortcut over another app shortcut and release.

3. Enter a folder name.

4. Touch Back5_1.png. A folder is created with the shortcuts inside.


Use Folders

1. Touch a folder to open it and access the shortcuts inside.

2. To add shortcuts to a folder, drag each app shortcut onto the folder and release.

3. Touch Folder colors7.png to change the folder’s color scheme.

4. To delete a folder along with all the app shortcuts inside, touch and hold the folder until it detaches from Home screen, and then drag it to RemoveGB.png and release.

Change the Wallpaper


Change the look of the Home and Lock screens with wallpaper. You can display a favorite picture, or choose from preloaded wallpapers.

1. To change the wallpaper, touch and hold an empty space or pinch fingers together on the Home screen.

2. Touch Wallpapers.

3. Choose from HOME SCREEN, LOCK SCREEN, or HOME AND LOCK SCREENS. For this example, touch HOME SCREEN.

4. View the preloaded wallpapers on your device at the bottom of the screen, and touch a thumbnail to preview.

Note: To select a wallpaper from your saved pictures other than the preset wallpapers, touch From Gallery. Navigate to the picture's folder and touch the picture to select it. You can crop and resize the image by swiping two fingers in and out.  Touch DONE to save picture as your wallpaper.

5. Touch SET AS WALLPAPER to apply the selected wallpaper.
