How to enter the unlock code provided by your phone carrier to unlock your Galaxy phone

In today's interconnected world, unlocking your Galaxy phone can give you the freedom to switch networks as you please, whether you're seeking better coverage, lower costs, or are traveling abroad. While Samsung does not unlock phones directly, your carrier can provide you with an unlock code. In some cases, carriers may also have the option to unlock your phone remotely; however, if you have received an unlock code and need to enter it manually, this guide is for you.

Disclaimer: When you purchase a Samsung phone from a carrier, your phone is locked to their network for a specified period of time according to the contract. You must contact your carrier to find out the conditions of your contract and obtain an unlock code.

1 Power off the device.
2 Insert the alternative carrier SIM card into the device.
3 Power on the device.
4 Wait for device to display the "SIM Network unlock PIN" screen.
5 Enter the code provided by your phone carrier and then tap Unlock.

Note: You must obtain your unlock code directly from your previous mobile provider. Samsung can not provide any unlock code for carrier phones; Samsung only sells unlocked Galaxy phones on its website.

6 If successful the device will display "Network unlock successful".
