Samsung Olympics Worldwide partner Olympic T-shirt gift and Olympic Tickets Competition Terms and Conditions

By applying for your free T-shirt (the “Promotion”) or by entering the competition (the “Competition”) you (the “participant”) agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. Any information or instructions published by the Promoter about the Competition on the “www.samsung.com/co/o2” website form part of these terms and conditions.

Entry

  1. The Competition and Promotion are open to residents of Great Britain and Northern Ireland aged 18 or over only.
  2. Employees or agents of the Promoter or O2 or any of their group companies, or their families or households or anyone professionally connected to this Promotion or Competition are not eligible to enter.

Free Olympic T-shirt Gift with Purchase

  1. Participants who purchase a Samsung Galaxy S2, Galaxy W, or Galaxy Ace (“Galaxy Device”) between 2 March 2012 and 12 April 2012 (“the Promotion Period”) may apply to receive a free Olympic T-shirt whilst stocks last. Applications received from participants that return the Galaxy Device will be withdrawn from the Promotion.
  2. To apply for the Olympic T-shirt, participants must take the following action on their purchased Galaxy Device before 11 May 2012:

    1. connect to the internet – either through their network provider or over WIFI;
    2. visit the Android Market and download the “Samsung 2012” application;
    3. open the Samsung 2012 application;
    4. allow the application to recognise the IMEI number of the device;
    5. enter all of the required contact information; and
    6. select the design and size of T-shirt requested.
  3. Only one T-shirt gift may be claimed per Galaxy Device purchased.
  4. This Promotion is only available to consumers (e.g. not to any business or reseller).
  5. The T-shirt gift will be dispatched after 28 days but within 50 days to the name and address provided within the application.

Olympic Tickets Competition

  1. In order to enter the Competition, between 2 March 2012 and 12 April 2012 (“the Competition Period”) participants resident in Great Britain must purchase a Samsung Galaxy S2, Galaxy W, or Galaxy Ace (“Galaxy Device”) on a pay monthly contract from O2 via telephone sales, online, or in a O2 store, during the Competition Period (defined below). Entries received from participants that return the Galaxy Device will be withdrawn from the Competition.
  2. Residents in Northern Ireland must either purchase a Galaxy Device in accordance with the above paragraph, or may enter the Competition in accordance with paragraph 17 below.
  3. There are 270 prizes available to be won by residents of Great Britain (England, Scotland and Wales) and 10 prizes available to be won by residents of Northern Ireland.
  4. Each prize is a pair of tickets to a London 2012 Olympic Event (the “Prize”). The tickets available include the following:

  5. The Prize is a pair of tickets only. Winners will be allocated tickets randomly and will not have a choice of tickets. Each winner will have to make their own way to the relevant venue in order to use the Prize. Tickets will either be posted to winners or will be made available for collection from an Olympic venue. Ticket collection details will be communicated to winners in advance.
  6. Use of the tickets is subject to the London 2012 ticketing Terms and Conditions as set out at the following link: http://www.tickets.london2012.com/purchaseterms.html.
  7. The London 2012 Organising Committee (LOCOG) give no guarantee in relation to the London 2012 ticket prize, and cannot be held liable for any injury, loss or damage of any kind arising from a winner’s (and where applicable, guest’s) use of the London 2012 ticket prize.
  8. The Prize carries no cash value, is non-transferable and may not be substituted by the winner. The Promoter may substitute a prize of equal or greater value for any prize.
  9. To enter the Competition, participants who purchase a Galaxy Device during the Competition Period must take the following action on their Samsung Galaxy Device:

    1. connect to the internet – either through their network provider or over WIFI;
    2. visit the Android Market and download the “Samsung 2012” application;
    3. open the Samsung 2012 application;
    4. allow the application to recognise the IMEI number of the device;
    5. enter all of the required contact information; and
    6. tick the box to confirm they are a Pay Monthly customer and wish to enter the Competition (the “Entry”).
  10. Participants who are residents of Northern Ireland may also enter the competition without making a purchase by sending a legible copy of their name, address, phone number and email address to: Samsung O2 Tickets Promotion NPN entry, PO Box 106, Welshpool, SY21 7WW (also an “Entry”).
  11. Entries must be received by the Promoter before 11 May 2012.
  12. No responsibility is accepted by the Promoter for lost, delayed or damaged data which occurs during any communication or transmission of Entries.
  13. Only one Entry is permitted per IMEI number (or per person for Entries received in accordance with paragraph 17). Duplicate Entries will be removed from the Competition.
  14. The Promoter reserves the right at its absolute discretion to disqualify Entries which it considers do not comply with these terms and conditions or any participant who it reasonably believes has interfered with the fair running of this Competition.
  15. Fully completed entries must be sent to be received no later than the end of the Competition Period. Entries received after the Competition Period will not be eligible for entry.
  16. The winners of the Prizes will be:

    1. for Entries received from residents of Great Britain: the first 270 Entries selected at random on 25 May 2012; and
    2. for Entries received from residents of Northern Ireland: the first 10 Entries selected at random on 25 May 2012.
  17. If a winning participant from Great Britain has returned their Galaxy Device prior to the date of the prize draw:

    1. the Entry will be deemed invalid and removed from the Competition; and
    2. a new winning Entry will be chosen at random.
  18. The winner of the Prizes will be notified using the email address and mobile number provided at the time of entry. The winners will have 14 days from the date the notification was sent to claim their prize.
  19. In the event that a winner is unreachable, ineligible, or fails to claim the prize in the time required, the winner shall forfeit their prize. The prize will be reused by the Promoter for future promotions.
  20. The winners will be announced after 25 May 2012. Details of the winners will be published on the following website: www.samsung.com/co/o2
  21. The Promoter reserves the right to publish the names and towns of residence of all winners.
  22. By accepting the prize, the winner:

    1. agrees to take part in media interviews including but not limited to magazine, television and radio interviews;
    2. agrees to be photographed by the Promoter for the purposes of promoting the Competition and the Promoter’s products; and
    3. agrees to participate in the Promoter’s other marketing and promotional activities.

Privacy and Data Protection

  1. The Promoter may use any personal information submitted by the participant to advise participants of future promotions and to provide information about products of the Promoter that may be of interest. The participant hereby consents to such personal information being used for this purpose and confirms that it agrees with the Promoter’s privacy policy available at http://www.samsung.com/co/info/privacy.html. The participant may withdraw consent to such use of personal information by writing to the Promoter or by using the opt-out process outlined in the Promoter’s privacy policy.
  2. Other than as set out in these terms and conditions or for the purposes of operating the Promotion, the details and information provided by the participant when entering the Promotion or claiming a prize will not be used for any promotional purpose, nor shall they be passed to any third party.

The Promoter

  1. The promoter of this Competition and Promotion is Samsung Electronics (UK) Limited, Samsung House, 1000 Hillswood Drive, Chertsey, Surrey, KT16 0PS (the “Promoter”).

General

  1. The Promoter shall not be liable for any interruption to this Competition or Promotion whether due to force majeure or other factors beyond the Promoter’s control.
  2. The Promoter reserves the right, acting reasonably and in accordance with all relevant legislation and codes of practice, to vary these terms and conditions.
  3. The Promoter shall not be responsible for paying any taxes or other duty incurred by any participant as a result of this Competition or Promotion.
  4. The Promoter will not be responsible or liable for: (a) any failure to receive entries or applications due to transmission failures; (b) any late, lost, misrouted, or damaged transmissions; (c) any computer or communications related malfunctions or failures; (d) any disruptions, losses or damages caused by events beyond the control of the Promoter; or (e) any printing or typographical errors in any materials associated with the Competition.
  5. The Promoter shall have the right, where necessary, to undertake all such action as is reasonable to protect itself against fraudulent or invalid claims and entries including, without limitation, to require further verification as to the identity, age and other relevant details of an entrant or claimant and/or the verification as to their qualifying purchase (where relevant) before accepting a claim or entry as being valid.
  6. By entering the Competition or Promotion, the participant agrees to release the Promoter from any liability whatsoever for any claims, costs, injuries, losses, or damages of any kind arising out of or in connection with the Competition or with the acceptance, possession, attendance at or use of any prize or gift (except death or personal injury caused by the Promoter’s negligence, for fraud, or otherwise as prohibited by law).
  7. This Competition and Promotion, and these terms and conditions, are governed by English law.
