LAS VEGAS - January 8, 2007 - Samsung Electronics, an award winning innovator in HDTV technology, unveils the newest addition to its successful plasma HDTV line ? a wireless HDTV that delivers a brilliant full HD 1080p resolution picture. The new 58-inch HT-P5894W TV allows consumers to enjoy robust HD content from their Blu-ray disc players, next-generation game consoles, and other HD sources without the unsightly glare of complex cabling through 802.11n wireless technology.

Samsung created its wireless plasma displays for design-conscious home theater enthusiasts, offering a cleaner design and easy, fast and convenient set up. Both electronics whizzes and consumers that are new to HD can rapidly connect home theater peripherals such as DVD players, gaming systems, personal computers and stereo systems to their TVs without the myriad of confusing input and output cables.

¡°As wireless technology continues to rapidly proliferate across technologies and infiltrate the home market, consumers can keep up with technology advances and enjoy seamless interoperability with a multitude of devices and content,¡± said John Revie, Senior Vice President, Visual Display Marketing, Samsung Electronics America. ¡°Responding to consumer demand for a high performing, easy to set up and easy to use system, Samsung continues to offer consumers outstanding high-definition screens, illustrating design and performance expertise while delivering a superior entertainment experience.¡±

Samsung¡¯s 58-inch HT-P5894W wireless plasma HDTV features Samsung¡¯s exclusive FilterBright2 Plus¢â, which is a powerful anti-reflective technology which absorbs external light and transmits internal light, thereby increasing the contrast levels and preventing unwanted reflection. In bright daylight, FilterBright2 Plus¢â technology creates high contrast with true black to show clearer image details and generate superb dark area representation.

Besides being wireless, this unit offers another feature sure to please sticklers for a sleek clean look, an elegant ¡°invisible side speaker¡± cabinet design. Three HDMI and two component connections offer superior and seamless connectivity with peripheral entertainment devices. The 16:9 screen aspect ratio and 175-degree viewing angle provide users with a true cinematic picture from almost anywhere in the room.

Another unique feature is the USB 2.0 interface slot located on the side a/v panel. This impressive feature is compatible with all digital photo and music players. In addition, the unit has Bluetooth technology for use with wireless headphones. These wireless plasmas also offer a consumer-friendly swivel stand which allows convenient repositioning for a flexible viewing angle increasing the flexibility of the TV¡¯s possible placement without compromising picture viewing quality.

HT-P5894W wireless plasma HDTV will be available in September 2007 at an MSRP of $5,699.
