SAMSUNG Electronics makes an effort to develop environment-friendly product that minimizing an impact to environment through whole process from getting raw materials, production, transportation, usage and end-of-life disposal by adding 'environment' on function, price, quality, design that were the essence for product development.
For this process, we takes a responsibility for whole process through LCA and recycle evaluation and by operating recycling center for dealing with an efficient treatment of the waste product.

SAMSUNG Electronics' monitor products received the Grand prize selected by Ministry of at National Environment Friendliness Management Award selected by Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy. The monitor acquired the environment safety standards such as TCO 99 and TCO 03 and lead the wellbeing trend of IT products by producing an anion emitting LCD monitor, and the silver-nano coated monitor.

The printer CLP-510 received the grand prize for the 7th Environment Management Award sponsored by Maeil Safety & Environment Institute.
CLP-510 bring down noise that generate when print to below 50 dBs by NONOISTM‚ (Non-Orbiting Noiseless Optic Imaging System), one of the superior core technology of SAMSUNG and draws the accomplishment of eco-design to implement resource saving by applying the Single Board Controller through the simplicity of parts. Also despite there is no change of product size, the package volume was improved by designing the package size much smaller through parts to be included in set itself.

In 2005, the Inverter ZIPEL Refrigerator (Model: SRT686LSI) received the Grand prize of the year organized the citizens groups researching the consumer issues. Also HAUZEN Surround air conditioner (model: HPA180VC) and Steam drum washing machine (model: SEW-5HR127AT) received the energy Winner prize by the assessment conducted by the same group. These results are due to continuous activity to reduce energy consumption in the products and also, especially the washing machine products received the standby Winner prize organized by the same group.
