SAMSUNG Electronics makes an effort to develop environment-friendly product that minimizing an impact to environment through whole process from getting raw materials, production, transportation, usage and end-of-life disposal by adding 'environment' on function, price, quality, design that were the essence for product development.

For this process, we takes a responsibility for whole process through LCA and recycle evaluation and by operating recycling center for dealing with an efficient treatment of the waste product.

SAMSUNG Electronics built one of the best laboratories in the world for organic & inorganic analysis, and VOCs testing, and they have 11 kinds of analysis equipments (in total 18 units). Plus, we built a system that consists of large-sized environmental chambers and precision instruments for analyzing the VOCs such as phenol and toluene which could be environmental or regulatory issues worldwide.

Besides, we promote development and standardization of analysis methods for hazardous substances. Leading International Electro technical Commission (IEC) and the Korea Industrial Standard (KS) for brominated flame retardant analysis method and go public as KS(KS M 1062) in Nov. 2005. and IEC completed technical review. Now we expect the vote for final members in coming March. 2007. To ensure the reliability of the test results, our laboratory applied for the international accreditation program and it is accredited by Underwriter’s Laboratories (UL) in Sep. 2005.Regarding the standardization of our own analysis method, we registered Spot-test, precision analysis for 4 kinds of volatile organic compounds and organo tin, and qualitative analysis on hexavalent chromium as our own standard after reliability verification.

Plus, We operated an analysis capability verification program for testing lab by location in order to have our suppliers to get reliable test report with lower cost, and eventually certified 11 testing lab. as the Eco-partner Lab. like Korea Testing Laboratory.
