SAMSUNG Corning was established in 1973 as a fifty-fifty joint venture with Corning of the USA. It produces and sells electronic core parts (glass for TV and computer monitors ranging from 10 to 37 inches, Braun tubes, ITO coating glass for LCDs, and rotary transformers used for VCR head drums). SAMSUNG Corning developed TV Braun tube glass for the new 12.8:9 standard, wide TV Braun tube glass for the first time in the world, and was the second company to succeed in producing an entirely flat Braun tube glass series.
