TFT-LCD, currently the most advanced display, will lead the digital age in the 21st century. TFT-LCD is widely used in various fields such as portable computers, LCD monitors, LCD TVs, digital cameras, graphic telephones, game machines, PDAs and navigators. Its use is also increasing as the core display materials of a ubiquitous technology. The glass for TFT-LCD is an advanced, high value-added product, being produced only in a few countries throughout the world, including Korea. In conjunction with Corning Inc. in the United States of America, SCP has developed a method for manufacturing panel glass for TFT-LCD and became the second largest producer in the world in 1997.
