To mis-quote a famous phrase, the end-product is only as good as its parts. Similarly, we can only achieve environmental improvements to our products by working in co-operation with our suppliers. Our products are made of many thousands of components, each of which may contain priority chemical substances or have an impact on energy efficiency.

At Samsung Electronics, we have a comprehensive environmental programme for our suppliers called 'Eco-Partner'. It is designed to reduce the environmental impact of both the components themselves and suppliers' own manufacturing operations. This is supplemented by separate policies on specific issues, such as Coltan.
