Samsung Electronics Gumi Plant II, complete with annual production capacity of more than 40 million units of HDD, has been ISO 9000 and ISO 14001 certified as an automated plan at the world's highest level, and possesses exclusive production lines for HDD enabling to produce ‘World Best' quality products. All executives and employees in production are striving for production of defect-free products as their goal through a much hygenic clean room (Class 10 clean room technology) than rival companies.
- ISO (International Organization for Standardization) 9000 is certification of the quality management system for suppliers, and refers to proceeding with improving the process continuously in order to respond to the constantly changing demand of customers.
- ISO 140001 aims to strive for improving the growth and environmental performance of companies, and refers to the well-organized environmental management system for corporate management to continuously improve the negative environmental effects that could be generated based on corporate activities.
- Class 10 is a clean room at the level of processing semiconductor memory having less than 10 dust particles in sizes larger than 3 micron within the area of 1 cubic feet.
