detection by computer
Run the CMOS(BIOS) Setup program to detect the new hard disk drive.
It's a program that controls the computer's basic details, such as date and time, memory capacity, and disk drive status. Because it gets recorded in the CMOS IC, these recorded details are not lost when the computer is turned off.
For details of the program, refer to the computer's user's manual.
If your computer supports IDE HDD Auto Detection, the hard disk drive will automatically be detected.
If your computer does not support auto detection, go into the User Define Mode and, referring to the Parameter Chart, set the correct settings for Cylinder, Head, and Sector and if some BIOS must be set the HDD Mode to LBA
If you select the type from the IDE Adapter Primary Master, Slave section,
Autotype Fixed Disk : [Press Enter] will appear on the screen at this time. If you press Enter, the hard disk drive will automatically be detected
