Year 2000 Statement

Samsung Electronics hard disk drives are ready for the year 2000. All Samsung hard disk drives in current manufacture are as fully functional for the 21st century as for the present. Samsung Electronics confirms that its hard disk drives manufactured today are, and will continue to be, Y2K-ready according to the following definition:

"A product is said to be Year 2000 Ready or Compliant if the product functions consistently in accordance with its associated documentation, whether the current date is before, on or after January 1, 2000, provided that all other products (for example, hardware, software and firmware, etc.) used with the product properly exchange accurate date data with it."

This means all components within a system, including hardware and software, must be Y2K-ready to enable the system to be fully Y2K-ready.

Furthermore, after having finished its corporate-wide Year 2000 project in the first half of 1999, Samsung Electronics is carrying forward every and any efforts to continuously provide ultimate products and services for our customers into the year 2000 and beyond.
